2022 JRTOC Scholarship Awards

Who’s eligible to apply?

High School JROTC Seniors from Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) or Hereford Independent School District (HISD) who will graduate before June 1 of the current school year and plan to pursue their education in a two or four-year college or university, are eligible for one of 3 scholarships being offered by the Marine Corps League, Roan-Creek Detachment #992.

How much is the scholarship?

One five hundred dollar scholarship will be awarded per school.

What other documentation is needed when applying?

• Student Scholarship application (download below)

• Guidance Counselor or JROTC Instructor Endorsement

• Copy of student Transcript

• Leadership Essay (single page essay)

How do you award the scholarship?

The scholarships will be awarded based on Academic Achievement, College Entrance Scores, Intended Major, Honors and Awards, Extracurricular Activities, Community Service, and Financial Need. The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the applications and make award determinations on the first Tuesday of March of each school year.

How Do I apply?

All scholarship applications must be submitted to the AISD or HISD Scholarship Coordinator no later than 1 February of each school year.

The AISD or HISD Scholarship Coordinator will forward all completed scholarship packages to the USMCL Scholarship Committee no later than 15 February of each school year.
