Panhandle Veterans Financial Assistance
The Panhandle Veterans Financial Assistance (PVFA) Program is a method by which Veterans and active duty service members who have or are now honorably serving our country may obtain financial assistance during a period of personal financial need.
The PVFA is sponsored by the Roan-Creek Marine Corps League, Detachment 992 and funded by donations from local citizens and business owners who wish to support our countries heroes during their time of need.
Applicants desiring to obtain assistance through the PVFA must meet the following prescreening criteria:
Be a veteran or active duty military person in any branch of the United States armed forces.
Show evidence of honorable discharge or current honorable service status
Show evidence of financial need
Complete an application for PVFA funding support
PVFA processors will evaluate the requestor’s need and application information to determine eligibility for assistance. Assistance provided is a onetime disbursement; the PVFA is not a long term financial support asset. Disbursements are financial grants and do not require repayment.
Veterans and Military personnel who have received aid from the PVFA have on occasion felt a desire to assist others through the PVFA once they have regained their financial footing. In these cases the individual becomes a donor of the PVFA as we do not require repayment of assistance.
